I am an amateur artist and Wheatley resident, mostly painting in oils, with a side-line in pen and wash. Self-taught would be a poor description because I have attended countless art courses over the years, but I have never been to art college. People are fond of asking for how long one has painted. I have dabbled all my life but things only got serious about fifteen years ago with the coming of semi and then full retirement. It is now a major preoccupation. In the recent past, I have exhibited with the Oxford Art Society and the Armed Forces Art Society in London.
I am primarily interested in painting landscapes, including in that term seascapes and townscapes and preferably, when weather conditions permit, executed en plein air.
